08:30 SD778799 A moderately strenuous walk of approximately 14 miles, starting and finishing at a lay-by about 100 metres west of Gearstones on the B6255. The walk visits the source of the Ribble, high up on Cam Fell, from which there is a tremendous view in fine weather. Meet at 08:30am at Bury Interchange or 10:00am at walk start venue.

The outline route for the first part of the walk is Castleton – Hope – Win Hill – Parkin Clough – Ladybower Dam. The southern bank of Ladybower Reservoir is then followed to its end. The remainder of the route is Hope Cross – Hope Brink – Townhead Bridge – Losehill Hall – Hollowford Road – Castleton. The walk will commence from outside of the National Park Visitor Centre at about 10.15am. Please note that parking in Castleton costs £5 for a car, so car-sharing is recommended.

09:00 From Littleborough the canal towpath is taken north to Summit, followed by the Pennine Bridleway to Chelburn reservoirs, Lydgate and Syke Moor, and then past Benny Hill to Hollingworth Lake. The walk continues along the lake’s south shore to Peanock Farm and the restored 17th century Clegg Hall, before returning to Littleborough by canal towpath.

09:00 SK072992 The walk starts from the public car park (Campsite/Youth Hostel) at Crowden. The route is Black Tor, Laddow Rocks, Dun Hill and Black Hill, returning via Tooleyshaw Moss , White Low, Hey Edge and back to Crowden.

08:30 SK086588 (OL24) The walk involves exploring the high ground of Ecton and Wetton hills, visiting Thor's Cave (bring a torch) and dipping in and out of the Manifold Valley. We will walk through the typical white peak villages of Wetton, Brotherton and Grindon, which are collectively known as "the Cathedral of the Staffordshire Moors." The walk starts from Warslow, opposite the Greyhound pub.

The route begins at the car park on the south side of Fewston Embankment and follows Swinsty Reservoir south to the outflow of the River Washburn. It then climbs out of the valley onto Sandwith Moor before turning north past Scargill Reservoir to drop into the valley of Oak Beck. Here it joins the Dales Way Link from Harrogate to return to the north side of Swinsty and back to the car park.

The walk follows old transport routes, including towpaths, packhorse trails and rail lines. It starts from Littleborough along the Rochdale Canal and then climbs over Summit Tunnel and follows the Pennine Bridleway through Reddyshore Scout. The route again crosses the Rochdale Canal and climbs to the Pennine Way via Cat Stones. The Pennine Way is followed as far as Blackstone Edge before descending and returning to Littleborough.

Starting from the ‘Inn on the Wharf’ in Burnley the walk proceeds via the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, the River Brun, Worsthorne & the Burnley Way to the Gorple Stones. It returns via Cant Clough Reservoir, Hurstwood, Mereclough & Towneley Hall.

From the start at Slipper Lowe car park, the walk drops down through the woods to Tockholes before climbing up to Darwen Tower. It then goes south to Entwistle and returns along the Witton Weavers Way via Hollinshead Hall.

C 8 Annie Meighan 09:00 Meet at Todmorden Market (near Public Conveniences) at 10.00am. Park on Todmorden Market car park. From Todmorden Market Place the route is to Hole Bottom, past East & West Whirlaw, along the Calderdale Way to Shore Lane and past Mount Cross to Pudsey Clough, Brown Binks, Whitaker Naze and Portsmouth. After crossing the railway line and the A646 the walk proceeds up Carr Road and continues to the moor below Cock Hill Wood and the Old Woman. It then proceeds on to Lower Moor and goes past Height Top & New Towneley to West End. Finally, it goes to Todmorden Edge & High Barn, and down Dog House Lane before arriving back at Todmorden Market.
