Walks are graded from Strenuous (hardest), Moderate/Strenuous, Moderate and Easy (easiest).

Meet at Bury Interchange Stand A for 471 bus leaving at 09:25 going to Heywood. Walk starts around 10:10am from the Captain Fold bus stop in Heywood – grid ref SD866110 Post Code OL10 1QU (opposite All Souls Church).
Please let the leader know if you are travelling directly to the start point..

Route is along the Roch to Queen's Park & Hooley Bridge and then Birtle, Grindles Farm, Bank Top Farm, Burrs Country Park and back to Bury, and the Trackside Bar.

For the start of the walk go past the Britannia Inn, Haslingden Road (B6236) and after approximately 700m turn left onto Haslingden Old Road (also signed for Magnoll’s Farm). Here roadside parking is available.

The walk passes the ruins of Brookside Mill and visits Town Bent, Hoyle Bottom and Green Hawarth. After crossing the moor near Thirteen Stone Hill the Rossendale Way is picked up to go past Jamestone Quarry and Rushy Hill. Finally the route is to Belthorn (the highest village in Lancashire) before South Lane (a track) is taken back to the start.
