Welcome to Bury Ramblers
Bury Ramblers Group is part of the Greater Manchester & High Peak Area of the Ramblers. We have approximately 170 members. However, we are always ready to welcome new members. We organise walks in some of the finest countryside in the North of England where there is an extensive network of footpaths. We organise all-day walks on most Sundays of the year. The group size on our walks is usually between 10 and 20. Walks are advertised in the Walks programme page and includes any late changes or cancellations to walks. If you are new to walking you can join us on up to three of our walks before deciding if you would like to become a member of Ramblers.
If you choose to join The Ramblers you are allocated to a local group based on your postcode (unless you choose otherwise). This doesn’t mean you can only walk with that group. You can walk with any other group you choose.

In warm, cloudy weather, Tracey led 13 walkers on a 9.5 mile scenic and hilly walk through Brontë Country, a landscape famous for its links with the writings of the Brontë sisters Charlotte, Emily and Anne. Starting from Haworth, the group followed The Brontë Way to Brontë Falls where we paused for a morning break by the stream. From there, a steep climb followed up to Top Withins, a ruined farmhouse, prominent for its association with Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights. After resting and admiring the view, the group descended to Ponden Mill at Ponden Reservoir, then climbed up again along The Millennium Way to Oldfield Lane before returning through Haworth to the start, stopping on the way for drinks at The Old Sun Inn.
