Peter Rowley led a group of 11 on this walk on a very windy day, with wet conditions underfoot, but fortunately no rain. From the Duckworth Arms in Shuttleworth, the route was east on the Rossendale Way, north on Bury Old Road, north on the A680 and NW and then NE on Michael Wife Lane, north on Gin Croft Lane and Sand Beds Lane and then east on the Rossendale Way to Waugh’s Well. The walk continued onto the Coal Road, taking the ladder stile to go south on Fecit Lane to Paradise. From Paradise the route was south to Cheesden Bridge, and after a short stretch on the A680, the Bamford Road to Shuttleworth, and finally back to the start, and the Duckworth Arms.
