In cold but dry conditions Jim Byrom led a group of  14 walkers on a 10 mile walk starting from Broadley Fold near Whitworth. From the car park the route was west to Greenbooth Reservoir then north along part of Rossendale way passing near Top of Leach and Cowpe Reservoir to Boarsgreave. From there the walk continued along the old rail track above Britannia Quarries and Cowm Reservoir to Whitworth before returning to Broadley Fold. Some of the group went to the Talbot Head pub after the walk for drinks.
