In mild but windy conditions eleven walkers set out from Earby on a 10 mile circular walk led by Mike Lee. The first objective was Procter Height via Mill Bridge and Standridge Clough Lane. From there the group descended to Raygill Farm and on to Lothersdale Village for the lunch stop. After the lunch break, the group climbed to Pinhaw Beacon for panoramic views, after a short detour to Robert Wilson's Grave. Robert Wilson was one of many Beacon Watchmen posted on the moors to keep vigil and light their beacons to give an early warning in the event of Napolean Bonaparte invading Britain. He died while trying to obtain supplies from a nearby farm during a winter storm. From the beacon, the group descended to Booth Bridge and then back to Earby. After the walk, some of the group went to the BB18 Micro Brewery and Tap for drinks.
